Getting quoted wild prices for countertops and not sure if I'm being ripped off. I want to work with a company that truly specializes in premium material and doesn't cut corners. How do I find reliable ones, what should I ask, and what's a realistic timeframe? Want quality without the long wait.

I got wild quotes too—$300/sq ft vs. $70 for the same quartz - and almost panicked. What saved me was asking if they fabricate in-house and if slabs are local. Big box markup vs. local fabricator is huge. I found a Florida shop via Edstone that does premium stuff without the insane markup. They were transparent about material grade and seams. “Fast” for me was 12 days from template to install. Ask: (1) do you cut locally, (2) are slabs in stock now, (3) how many seams will there be. My contractor was shocked how quickly it went.
